Migrate Jet Administration Console to Web Client

It would be great to have the functionality of the Jet Administration Console (maintaining users, data sources, and permissions) migrated over to the web client. For users that are assigned Admin privileges, when they log in to the web client they would have tabs for Reports, Dashboards, and Admin. From Admin they could then maintain users, data sources, and permissions between users and data sources. Since both the web client and the admin console connect to the service tier it would be a great way to allow administration from anywhere without needing to log on to a server and open an application.

    Admin response

    Jet 2018 R2 (18.1.18101.2) - released Apr 19, 2018

A Jet Admin can now add AD users and groups to their Jet environment using an admin interface in the Jet Web Portal.  This is the same functionality as in the Jet Administration Console.  Configuring data sources and user permissions to those data sources is functionality that will be coming in a future release.

+1 for this : we don't need a rich  desktop application for this, this will make life easier for users to connect to this via a browser. IT Administrators don't understand why some Jet users need to have access to the server to perform such a tasks.
