If the end user has data sources configured on the service tier and the local user profile, the end user has to be aware of which settings location is being used when the report is run. If the data source is a filter in the report and the wrong settings are used, an error message comes back that the data source is invalid. (That message needs to be changed as is. It could be expanded to read 'XYZ is not a valid data source for this setting. Check your settings location.")

It would be better if we didn't have to worry about what settings we are using and Jet is able to check if it's on the service tier or local profile.

If that's not possible, what about a toggle icon in the ribbon to switch you between your settings to save steps.
