I like to have my software up to date and I love the new functions in Jet Reports for users to be able to see, when an update is available. They can download and update their software themselves - but only if they have administrator privileges. Most users may not install software on their own, so an administrator has to install the update for each of these users. The update process is almost as easy as it could be. They just have to start the .exe-file and start the installation. No configuration needed. However, this is time consuming, if you have to do it for a bunch of users - as easy as it is (and I cannot even do it myself, as I am not an administrator to manage software on computers from my colleagues).

So I have two ideas:

The first and more important idea is for users to be able to update Jet Reports themselves without administrator privileges.

The second one is to be able to download the update directly through Jet Reports (Excel) via clicking on the update notification button. In combination with single sign on it should not even be necessary to open up the browser and click download and so on.

So these two ideas taken together, a normal user (not an administrator) can update Jet Reports from within Excel just by clicking one button. Excel will close itself, the update will be applied, Excel will open itself again (of course it will ask, if the current document needs to be saved and open the same document that has been closed before).
