Copying an object or series of objects from one project to another

The one feature that would be helpful would be the ability to copy an object or series of objects from one project and paste it into another. For example, if there was a complicated set of measures in a folder in a cube that was created in a test project to debug, there is no easy way to migrate those modifications to a project that is in production. The way we have gotten around this is that we have two Jet servers, one development and one production. We wait until we have significant modifications to install, then we export the development project, delete the production project, import the XML into production and rebuild the project. This is complicated by having snapshot-style tables (such as daily inventory value and daily open order value) used for planning purposes where we have to preserve the content. We have it down to a science now where it takes only a couple of hours to uplift a project. But it would be easier if we could copy and paste, as that would negate the need to reinstall a package on every major revision.
