Do you want to play a crucial role in shaping Jet Global products?
Desktop mode is great, and bigger tablets (Surface Pro for example) are great to demonstrate it.
However, I haven't found a way to select multiple items on a slicer in desktop mode without a keyboard.
The long press seems to work, but doesn't update the charts properly.
My suggestion would be a "Multiple Select" button on top of the slicer, as you have in Excel (see attach).

Is your issue with Jet Mobile, or desktop mode (in Essentials)?
In the Mobile iPad app we addressed this by using a long-tap to select a single item from a Slicer (and deselect all other items) and a short tap to toggle a slicer button on or off. This provides the multiple select capability. I'm not sure how it plays out on the Surface...
